I am a Slippery Rock graduate with a passion for fitness. I have a bachelor’s of science degree with a major in Exercise Science. I am still currently an athlete and for this reason I have a true passion for working with athletes and understand the crucial needs of the population. Through my education I understand a broad spectrum of fitness topics, such as significant weight loss, flexibility, strength, as well as many others. My senior semester I spent working with a peer client, through our sessions we accomplished a significant weight loss and I was able to provide him with the knowledge required to begin a self-guided and safe resistance training regimen. I have vast experience with disabilities, and have worked with the specific needs of individuals whom had physical and mental disabilities. Live it, Love it, Share it.
My passion for fitness was ignited when I went through my own personal struggles with muscle imbalances, trying to lose weight, and experiencing firsthand how difficult and intimidating it might be (at first) to begin the process. But, I also know how rewarding and amazing a person can feel when they reach their goals! I have degrees in music education and flute performance, and have extensive experience in teaching, and a tremendous desire for helping others. In addition, I created and maintain a blog to share my fitness story and to offer helpful advice to clients, as well as to those wanting to live a healthier lifestyle.
With over 20 years of training experience, I have combined all of the knowledge acquired through being a lifelong athlete, countless hours spent in training facilities as well as the detailed anatomy and integrated training concept information gained through my NASM certification. This allows me assess and create training plans for each individual based on their specific starting point and overall goals. I have worked with clients ranging from teens to those in their 70s, but I most enjoy training high level athletes seeking to improve their performance. It is my ultimate goal to educate my clients on the multiple aspects of living a healthy lifestyle and to help them understand why fitness training is so important as well as the many associated positive benefits.
With over 12 years experience I will customize your workouts according to your personal goals and current level of fitness. My exercise program emphasizes many different components of fitness: core strength/stability, corrective exercise/postural enhancement, total body strength training, flexibility, and cardiovascular training. I have been doing structured exercise since I was 13 years old and fell in love with it to the point that I pursued a degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in Exercise Science. Ever since I have been constantly continuing my education through my own exercise research and my own personal workouts. Your program will include a free initial assessment, where we will measure weight, bodyfat, and tape measures. Every 3 weeks I do a re-assessment to make sure the goals are being achieved. I am also going to design a self- cardiovascular (CARDIO) workout program for you to take and do on your own to enhance the results of the program.
