Amber is a fitness enthusiast with health club and customer service experience and a warm sense of compassion. She studies Psychology and Art in college and is looking for a unique way to combine those fields with fitness to form an ideal career. She is very outdoorsy and especially enjoys hiking. Amber looks forward to answering members' questions and concerns regarding fitness equipment, guest passes, membership account updates, and overall club maintenance.
I have a BS in Kinesiological Science, hold certifications through NASM and NCSF, and trained clients and taught fitness classes for about 10 years before getting into management. I especially enjoy assisting people overcome lower back and joint pain through core strengthening, functional training and exercise modification. As a personal challenge, I have also started training for and competing in the Figure Division of Body Building shows.
Rachael Snyder earned her B.S. in Physical Education with a minor in Personal Training from West Virginia University and is a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council of Exercise. After losing 65 pounds and winning her own battle with weight-loss, Rachael sustained a back injury causing her to change her ways of working out- Rachael is back to working toward her own weight loss goals and is eager to assist others in completing a similar journey. She is certified with the Gravity Training System, TRX, BOSU and especially enjoys teaching Boot Camp-style fitness classes and has recently gotten back into running.
David Komlos comes to Anytime Fitness with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Penn State, where he also played baseball. He holds teaching certificates in health and physical education as well. He has been teaching elementary physical education and personal training (NSPA certified) since 2005 and experience training clients from a wide range of age groups, abilities, injuries, and fitness needs. He is dedicated to motivating clients in helping them reach their goals and specializes in flexibility, conditioning, and strength training using a variety of techniques. One of his professional goals is to help educate everyone from 5 years old to 105 years old about the benefits of living a healthy and fit lifestyle. He enjoys playing a variety of sports and keeping up with the latest workout trends.
Debi began practicing Yoga 16 years ago. It made such a positive impression on her both physically and mentally that she continued exploring yoga and decided to become a teacher. She is thrilled to be able to help others discover the amazing benefits that yoga can offer. Debi also became a Certified Personal Trainer in 2014 because of her love of fitness. She is currently working on her certification in Personal Nutrition and Level I Reiki. Debi also has over 17 years of alternative health experience working for a company that produced cutting edge health content, nutritional supplements, organic foods, and natural skin care products. She continues to consult in that arena and loves to share healthy lifestyle tips with her students.
Jim is certified personal trainer with the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He trains people of all ages, but he committed himself early in his career to helping the growing older population meet its fitness goals. He went back to school, earning a gerontology certificate at the University of Maryland, and then added a Senior Fitness Specialist designation to his portfolio. Jim is also a certified Spinning and group fitness instructor and has competed in nearly 50 triathlons, including the 2010 age group national championships in Tuscaloosa, AL. In 2014, he placed third in his age group at the Diamond in the Rough International Triathlon in Perryville, MD, and also qualified for the USAT Age Group National Championships. Additionally, Jim holds a bachelor’s in history from UMBC and a master’s in public communication from the American University.
Laney Ambrose is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer. She trains people of all ranges of ages, genders, and fitness levels. Her specialty is training women who are struggling with their weight. Laney went through her own fitness journey in 2013. She went to the doctors and realized that she needed to begin losing weight. That very day she went to the gym and never looked back. After changing her diet slowly, working with a personal trainer, and mentally encouraging herself day after day to continue on, she lost an inspiring 105lbs! Laney can understand how it feels to be down on yourself about your body, and she is ready to support you through your fitness journey. Now, Laney is pursuing her education while maintaining a regular workout schedule. She loves to hike, bike at Great Falls, run inside and outside, and keep up with her strength training program. In the future, Laney plans on teaching multiple group fitness classes.
Martin Zerfas earned his National Strength and Conditioning Association Personal Trainer Certification in 2008 and has completed additional course work in Theories of Coaching, Recreational Leadership, and Health and Fitness. He has a diverse background in sports, including rugby, basketball, and martial arts. Martin became 50 pounds overweight during his 6 years as a litigation attorney. He decided to change careers in order to help other people improve their fitness and also to provide himself motivation to stay fit. He enjoys working with people of all fitness levels and abilities and believes that a personal trainer’s role is to motivate and educate clients to safely exceed what they believe they are capable of achieving. A vegan, Martin loves animals and volunteers with a number of animal welfare and animal rights groups.
Michael is a musician who has spent over two decades studying Nada and Shabda Yoga, the yogas of music and sound, and working to manifest those teachings in his own musical performances. In 2005 he began formal asana study and practice and completed his 200-hour teacher training in the Anusara style of Hatha Yoga. Michael’s teaching practice offers students classes that are alignment-based, heart-centered, fun, and infused with a touch of that rebellious rock-n-roll energy he brings to all his endeavors. He loves creating classes that not only offer students a challenging physical workout but which also incorporate the great body of yoga wisdom and teachings in order to give students an experience that is much more than simply stretching in Sanskrit.
Patricia was born in Cochabamba, Bolivia, and has a B.S. in Health Promotion and a Masters in Public Health. During college, Patricia discovered her passion for exercise and health. Ten years after taking her first spinning class, Patricia decided to become a Certified Spinning Instructor so she could share her passion for spinning and help motivate others to maintain physically active lives. Patricia’s philosophy when it comes to exercise is “strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will” (Mahatma Gandhi). Since 2005, Patricia has been performing, at private functions, cultural events, competitions and parades, a Bolivian dance called “tinkus”. And, Patricia joined a Latin performing dance group called Alma DC. Patricia is excited to be able to use her dancing experience as she continues to grow as a fitness instructor for both Spinning and Zumba.
Sandra has a Bachelors Degree in Physical Therapy and Physical Education. She is a bilingual instructor in Yoga, Dance-Aerobics, Conditioning, Step and has experience training pregnant women, seniors and children and is a Certified Personal Trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
Seth is a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer with a lifelong dedication to physical fitness. In high school he played soccer, ran track for Walter Johnson HS, and spent his summers horseback riding. Seth has been heavily involved in Martial Arts since 2005 and currently trains in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Boxing, and general combatives. In the warmer months he enjoys downhill longboarding and mountain biking. Inspired by his mother’s struggle with obesity, Seth is committed to leading others on their own paths to health and fitness. He knows that each path is unique and that, with a little guidance, each person can find fun and exciting ways to enjoy the ride.
Trina is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Fitness Nutrition Specialist and Group Fitness Instructor. She received her B.S. from the University of Pittsburgh. Her passion for fitness and wellness developed over time beginning about fifteen years ago. She was 75lbs overweight, was sedentary and made poor nutritional choices. She changed her habits and lifestyle and now feels strongly about sharing her experiences with others! She has since completed 7 marathons, 15 half marathons and lives a broad and varied approach to functional fitness training and healthy eating. Trina specializes in weight management, strength training, core stability and overall wellness coaching.
Wai Tam has a BS in Kinesiological Science from the University of Maryland, is certified through the National Council of Strength and Fitness and the National Academy of Sports Medicine, and has 15+ years of professional personal training experience. He is excited for new challenges, new types of clients, and new group fitness classes. He is just as comfortable working with a 20-year-old healthy athlete or a 70-year-old grandma with back pain, rotator cuff strains, and bilateral knee replacements. He’s looking forward to being able to reach more people in his quest to educate and train on health and wellness.
